How We Test

Gelcoat Test Simulator

Gelcoat is the most important component of composite products. Protect the product from hard chemicals, weather and abrasion by acting as a shield on the surface of the composite.

Gelcoat Weather Test

Cracking, fading, chalking, coiling and aging resistance of gelcoats of different types and structures are different according to the weather conditions -atmospheric conditions. In these harsh conditions, there are many different factors such as UV-ultraviolet rays, sudden temperature differences, rain and snow, dirt, environmental pollution and bird droppings. For these reasons, the combination of high quality gelcoat and high quality pigment paste provides real added value to the composite products to be used in the outdoor environment.

In Poliya research laboratories, we are subjecting our gelcoats to a wide variety of tests that force their boundaries. In these tests, we are testing solar radiation with Xenon-Ark systems, different temperature and humidity conditions, rain, fog and so on.

But in this part, we do not share the laboratory, ISO or EN standards, but we share with you real-world results in real-world conditions.

Gelcoat Sea Conditions Test

Osmosis, osmotic bulging, water absorption, hydrolysis, cracking, coiling and fading strengths of gelcoats of different types and structures are different from those of marine conditions. In these hard sea conditions there are many different factors such as water, ions, hydrolytic effect, biological organisms and environmental pollution. For these reasons, the combination of high quality gelcoat and high quality pigment paste provides true added value to composite products to be used in the sea.

In Poliya research laboratories, we are subjecting our gelcoats to a wide variety of tests that force their boundaries. In these tests, we are testing water resistance, osmotic effect and hydrolysis effect in water environments at different temperatures and different salt concentrations.

However, we share the results of real sea conditions in the Marmara Sea with you, not the laboratory, ISO or EN standards in this section.
